22 How can anyone get into heaven if we’re told to HATE other people?

People of the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are explaining to their "followers" that they must HATE others who find themselves in a "higher" social construct than they are. They are told that these people OWE them.

Where are the peacemakers? Sure, there are people who get characterized with the same sort of brush by the media on the OTHER side.

They are just wrong. Always seek the answers in the bible itself. If you want a correct or at least original knowledge of what Christianity means, regardless if you are a christian or not. This passage below is very important to understand. Remember that Christians are not suppose to hate neither to judge no body (see John 8) because we are all sinners. So Christianity (base on the teaching of Jesus) is supposed to be based on tolerance and love. But unfortunately people use Christianity to judge, hate people, and make wars.

    Mark 12:28-34 (New International Version)

    The Greatest Commandment
28One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"

29"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[b] 31The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[c]There is no commandment greater than these."

I hope this answer your question

  3. Zero X Void says:

The bible tells followers to kill people of other faith and many more typr of people.

  4. Jon M dn ǝpıs sıɥʇ says:

You’re right. Christianity is a message of love, not hate.

I have never read or heard Sharpton or Jackson say to hate others, but if they have, they were sinning. I tend to hear people like Pat Robertson, Fred Phelps and James Dobson say stuff like that, and of course their perversion of the Gospel has nothing to do with the Christ of the gospels.

Whoever encourages people to hate in the name of a God of love, is ridiculously warped and far from the message of Christ.

  5. Vincent says:

Christians hate the sin, not the sinner. Praise be to God.

  6. TEH TYME KITTEH ~pantheist~ says:

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are both race baiting pulpit pimps and should never be listened to again. Sane, educated people dont need the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson

  7. Barb says:

Religion has always done this. It’s all about love…but you must hate these and those

  8. Nancy D says:

We are told to love everyone and some people have strange ways of expressing that, which I don’t think is pleasing to God.

  9. Z-saber says:

"But I tell you: Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you."

    Mathew 5:44

  10. Punky (Punkalicious) says:

As long as you hate the same people that God does then everything’s sweet isn’t it?

  11. ♥Sarah♥ says:

well, they are wrong, youre not supposed to hate people…thats stupid. Celebs do whatever they can to get attention. Dont judge people, or they will judge you.

  12. Mr NiceGuy^3 says:

I didn’t know you needed to please Jesse Jackson and Al in order to get into heaven.
They have a lot more pull than I thought.

  13. Laptop Jesus ~P3D~ says:

Jesus himself told his followers they needed to "hate" their families (Greek word here was miseo, which means…hate, quite literally).

    Luke 14:25-35

  14. gottaxluvxmex99 says:

I have never heard that said. Of course, I don’t really listen to Jesse Jackson. I do know that hate is wrong, and that you should not hate anyone, whether they are a believer or nonbeliever. You don’t know what God’s will is. That wicked man who stole from you or something may soon be a Christian. So if you hated that man, in God’s eyes it is like you are hating your brother. Plus, you have no right to judge who is wicked and who isn’t. It is amazing how God works.

  15. Mouse-Chan says:

    That’s the Irony of Christianity.
There are some Catholic’s (that I have heard of) trying to change this misconception in the church, but they are failing.

  16. BK says:

    C’mon…

Hate others? Not even Jackson or Sharpton get close to that (lay off the Kool-Aid).

There are plenty of peacemakers… Billy Graham, MLK,… you have to RECEIVE the message.

  17. Don H says:

The word hate has no place in the teachings of Jesus.

    Love and blessings Don

  18. war~horse says:

That is not the message of Christ. We are to love our enemies. The peacemakers are those who
follow Christ is a quiet nonthreatening way. Christ will rule with Christ when HE returns and the
1st shall be last and the last shall be 1st. I feel sorry for them.

  19. Nowpower says:

I suspect that you’ve been told this by people who want you to hate Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

    Prove me wrong. Links, please?

And they’d better not be to Faux News.

  20. oldandtired says:

Hate is a brother of fear. Fear is the basis of authority. Governments MUST present an enemy to sell their protection. That is why they constantly manufacture them. Religion MUST have hell to sell their protection. That is why they invented it.

The only true enemy of mankind is those who use fear to create their positions of power.

  21. Peachfuzz says:

What is their Scriptural basis for this?

  22. ♥BBall Samurai♥ says:

I recall that passage in the Scriptures where it says, "They say, ‘Peace, peace’ where there is no peace." Such is our day today. I am not surprised by such messages. These are the end times, Rick.
