13 How do I pray for someone who has recently passed on?

My mom passed on from pancreatic cancer 3 days before christmas,
and i’d like to pray in celebration not for the fact that she’s no longer present,
but for the fact that she’s in heaven now and we should be happy for her?

Dear Lord. I am praying to you as you know, recently my mother died. I want to thank you for choosing her to be my mother. Because of you Lord, she lived a great life. As sad as it may seem that she is gone from earth, she is now living in your home. I know you are caring for her now and that I want to be thankful for. God, you are great. I pray that peace be upon her soul and that her body, the soil will be grateful for. please be with my family throughout this diffiicult time and that we may find solice in knowing that my mother is at rest now and the cancer can not hurt her no more. Thank you Lord for taking her pain away. Amen.

" O God, who hast commanded us to honor our father and our mother; in Thy mercy have pity on the soul of my mother, and forgive her her trespasses; and make me to see her again in the joy of everlasting brightness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen."

I will pray for you and your family. Just remember that the Lord hath taken her to a better place and that she will no longer suffer any pain but be free to do as she pleases. Her body may be dead, but her soul lives on. When you are going to bed tonight, find some quiet time and be alone with your thoughts. Talk to God, He will listen to you. You dont need to plan a prayer, just let the feelings flow and remember to be thankful for all the things in your life. God Bless you and your family. Take care.

  2. birdsflies says:

You don’t pray for the dead.

  3. supertop says:

You can thank God for the time you had with her and for the things she did for you and other people.

  4. Your Grandma says:

Dear, Grandma’s heart aches for you. How I wish I could give you a hug!

Simply say whatever is in your heart, dear. God understands. And when you blame God for your dear mother’s death, He’ll understand that, too. Let it all out and turn it over to God.

One more thing, dear. God’s love is embodied by your family and friends. Hug them, cry with them, and laugh with them. Their love is God’s gift to you. Reach out to them at any time. And if ever you’re in Michigan, you’re invited for a cup of coffee and a slice of Grandma’s homemade pie. You’ll be more than welcome.

    Love and blessings,

    Your Grandma

Any way you like is OK…

Job 9:23 (NIV) When a scourge brings sudden death, God* (*NOT SATAN, but God!) mocks the despair of the INNOCENT.

Job 9:17 (NIV) He* (*God… NOT SATAN, but God!) would crush me with a storm and multiply my wounds FOR NO REASON.

Job 9:24 (NIV) When a land falls into the hands of the wicked* (*There is nothing that God can do!), he* (*GOD) blindfolds its judges. If it is not he, then who is it*? (*Certainly not SATAN!)

Lamentations 3:37-38 (KJV) Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? out of the mouth of the Most High proceedeth not EVIL* (*first EVIL!) and GOOD*? (*The “GOD IS LOVE” bit is good only to make Christianity palatable to the masses. In the Bible script God is firstly EVIL, real EVIL, and lastly “good” as a teaser!)

Exodus 4:11 (NIV) The Lord said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord? (Not SATAN!) Christians want to impose this repulsive God on everybody else here in America, even by force!)

Amos 3:6 (KJV) Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be EVIL in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?* (*according to the Bible writers ALL THE EVIL IN THE WORLD COMES FROM GOD, not from Satan! It is a credible Christian dogma to blame Satan for anything that doesn’t work well for them!)

Proverbs 16:4 (NIV) The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, EVEN THE WICKED* (*Satan) FOR THE DAY OF EVIL* (*God had Satan ready to tempt Eve as soon as she was put together! God did not allow any Guardian Angel to advise Eve that Satan was EVIL. Satan only suggested that Eve get knowledge! The primitive Priestly Bible writers came up with the brilliant idea of a God that created Adam and Eve to be stupid religious people without any knowledge of good and evil! Only the Priests would have that knowledge… at a 10% of your gross income!).

Hardly any primitive religion in the world other than Islam is as wicked as the Bible religion.

Ruth 1:20-21 (NIV) “Don’t call me Naomi,” she told them. “Call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very bitter. I went away full, but the Lord has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi? The Lord has afflicted me; the Almighty* (*NOT SATAN, but the Bible God!) has brought misfortune upon me.”

Proverbs 1:26-28 (NIV) I* (*God NOT SATAN, but God!) in turn will laugh at your disaster; I WILL MOCK WHEN CALAMITY OVERTAKES YOU* (*All the Bible writers are copying from each other!) – when calamity overtakes you like a storm* (*please read carefully… it doesn’t say “when I send calamity!” but “when it happens.” The Bible writers take advantage of any natural disaster to make a point!), when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they* (*God’s chosen people) will look for me but will not find me* (*Isn’t God so loving? He won’t save anybody, but he will die laughing at them, spiritually speaking, of course!).

There goes the “I’m with you to the end” or is it only a teaser joke? This God is real only in the primitive mind of the Bible writers, and the Christians, today.

Jeremiah 11:14 "Do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them, BECAUSE I* (*God) WILL NOT LISTEN WHEN THEY CALL TO ME IN THE TIME OF THEIR DISTRESS.

Nothing scares primitive religious people more than the idea that their God doesn’t listen to them! It still works today! The Christian idea that this whimsical God always listens is wishful hoping that the chances are just right that God will answer on the spot, or later on, or never! It is just like praying to a stick, or a piece of a rock, or any other more benevolent Heathen God and getting THE SAME IDENTICAL RESULT!

Romans 9:11-15 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad–in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: not by works but by him who calls–she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” Just as it is written: “Jacob* (*Israel) I loved, but Esau* (*Arabs) I hated.” What then shall we say? IS GOD UNJUST? NOT AT ALL!* (*Saint Paul says so… he is telling you that he speaks for God!) For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”* (*“God is no respecter of persons” + “free will” is flushed down the toilet! God is very picky just for the heck of it! BTW, one of the reasons why Christians do not favor Palestinians unless they convert to Christianity is in this Bible story that is taught to everybody in Sunday School sessions, so Christian kids can have their brain washed at a very early age in favor of Israel! This is a great accomplishment of the Jewish Bible writers that is not going to change any time soon! If the Palestinians convert to Christianity there is no guessing of what would happen. Christian favor for Israel may be put on hold because the smart Jews don’t seem to be converting to Christ!)

Malachi 1:4 (NIV) Edom* (*Esau. In Bible theology they are related to the Arabs) may say, "Though we have been crushed, we will rebuild the ruins." But this is what the LORD Almighty says: "THEY MAY BUILD, BUT I WILL DEMOLISH. They will be called the Wicked Land, A PEOPLE ALWAYS UNDER THE WRATH OF THE LORD* (*How would you like to be one of them? No FREE WILL FOR YOU! NO “salvation,” either! God doesn’t like you for ever just for the heck of it and GOD NEVER CHANGES!

Isaiah 45:7 (KJV) I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and CREATE EVIL: I the LORD* (*NOT SATAN, but the Almighty Bible God Jehovah/Jahweh/Jesus) do all these things.

Job 42:11 (KJV) Then came there unto him* (*Job) all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over ALL THE EVIL that the LORD* (*NOT SATAN, BUT GOD!) had brought upon him:

Preachers won’t tell you this much because they know what to skim off the Bible so your faithful “giving to the LORD” won’t waiver! All of the above crap was written by people like you and I, except that somebody had the idea of having people worship this wacky creator God and was successful! In any case, God, Satan, Heaven and Hell don’t exist outside of the Bible! It is like pretending that Donald Duck exists or that Harry Porter adventures are real! (BTW, some Christians DO believe that H. Porter stuff is real and they must keep their kids away from it!)

  6. kdanley says:

Pray to God, giving Him thanks for such a mother. Pray for the ones she cared for, and witness to the ones she loved who are lost.

  7. SpAnK U vErY MuCh says:

She did not pass ON, she passed AWAY. Not to be mean, you have my condolences. But at least she now she has no pain or suffering.

  8. TattoomomKC says:

I am very sorry about the loss of your mom. You can pray for people who have passed on — just pray to Jesus in thanks, and ask your mom for her prayers for you too!

  9. Saved by Grace says:

You cannot. Once someone passes on, they immediately go to Heaven to be judged.

    Hebrews 9:27 (New International Version)
27Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,

  10. RedQueen says:

I’m so very sorry for your loss, and shall pray for both of you.

The most sincere prayers are those which come from the heart. Just say whatever it is that you are feeling. *hugs*

  11. AdoreHim says:

first of all, I am very sorry that your mother passed away. Condolences to you and your whole family. What I would suggest you do, instead of praying for her, pray to God and thank Him for her life, and that because of her faith in Jesus she is in heaven now.

  12. mariasda says:

i`m so sorry for your loss
my heart goes out to you and your family

  13. Joseph says:

All of these things we do when people die are not for the dead. These things that we do are for the living. The wake, the funeral, the prayer, all of it is for us. You pray any way you feel you need to because in the end that prayer is for your benefit. If you honestly do believe that there is a god and you believe that your mother is in a place of infinite love and joy and mercy then what prayer would she need? I have lost people close to me and I know how that pain can feel. There is nothing wrong in feeling sadness for your loss.
